Somewhere On The Streets Of Dreams

Along the ancient street of South Shuncheng Road in Xian, China, lies a long line of restaurants, coffee houses and pubs. Opposite lies nothing but the ancient city walls built in the 14th century. Out of a modern city of millions of people, Hruby found it odd that at dinner time, the entire street was deserted and silent. Void of any life at all. And when any people were observed at all, they too were completely quiet, as if ghosts sitting at a table. Hruby relays this sensation with an image showing one of these establishments on this medieval street while one has to almost strain to see two people sitting at a table, neither talking to the other and alone in an otherwise empty establishment.
