As a historian, Hruby studied Joan intensively while living in France, studying the truth of the icon, all the way to her final moments of life. Captivated by this 14 year old French world icon, he captures her statue in Bordeaux during early morning hours while under both the moon and a planet that shine above her. Often alone with the subject he is shooting, he again purposely, slightly blurs what is seen, reflecting his strong personal view of how history is often politically blurred by humanity and often, with not a full collection of all the facts in the matter.
